World of Warcraft - Review
World of Warcraft, one of those games that will never be forgotten, a breathtaking role playing experience, and by far, the most popular and finest there has ever been. Though there have been a bunch of MMORPG’s in the past, and even now, with eight years down its belt, none can contend with WoW. Blizzard Entertainment has truly done a great job with this epic RPG.
In World of Warcraft, you are able to create a character, toon, whatever you want to call it, and a powerful class to go with it. Once you have created a character you are able to set foot into Azeroth and start your adventure with questing, battling, and exploring the world set in Blizzard’s Real Time Stratergy game Warcraft. Fans of Warcraft games will be amazed, notice references and be impressed about how well World of Warcraft translates so many details of the Warcraft franchise into an MMORPG style game. First, you will need to pick a server to get started, there are Oceanic, United States, Latin America and Brazil servers for you to pick from. Each server is able to hold a maximum of ten characters per server. Each also has a set of rules to follow, such as the RPG server, which is basically more focused for PVE with an empasis on Role Playing. PVP servers focus more on PVP and means you can be attacked anywhere and at anytime from the rival faction, while PVE servers let you explore the world without fear of being attacked by another player.
Once you have picked a server to play in, its time to pick your adventurer. Now to cover the classes and races, there are a variety of races to choose from and even more of a variety of classes to go with them, such as warlocks, warriors, mages, priests, you name it. After the Wrath of the Lich King Expansion there is also now a Death Knight class, which is the first hero class introduced into the game. This class starts at level 55 but in order to make one you must have at least one 55 character or higher on your server, trust me, once you see the power of this class, it will be worth it. There is a thousand things that you are able to do in WoW, such as adventuring, fighting dangerous demons and monsters that lay havoc on the lands of Azeroth, acquiring powerful items and teaming up with other players to defeat some of the most powerful and well known bosses in Warcraft History. The Lich King, Illidan Stormrage, Deathwing are just a few of the popular bosses you are able to defeat.
Now to get to the graphics and design. World of Warcraft is a complex game whose complexity is carefully made simple enough for anyone to enjoy. Wow has an impressive 3D graphics engine, which delivers high performance on a wide range of systems while not skimping on pure flash.
The games interface is easy to learn and understand, while still giving you a challenging enough time. After countless hours playing, the great impression this game has created doesn’t wear off one bit. Regardless of if your sitting there farming for copper, or collecting bear butts because some creepy troll told you too, you shall be satisfied with what you are doing 99% of the time. The PVE aspect of the game has been done well, and I must say, addicting. You have a wide range of questing and doing good deeds for NPC’s in need, or grouping up with fellow adventurers, doing dangerous dungeons where at a high enough level, you could be facing Illidan Stormrage himself in combat. PVP combat is also a great aspect of this game, although, the game is heavily gear reliant but still requires players to be able to execute combos to prevail. Once you get high enough, there will be no stopping you, and once you get high level raid or pvp gear, all shall fall in your path to glory! To round it all up, this game is truely a masterpiece made by Blizzard. With great gameplay, great game design, man... GREAT EVERYTHING, maybe some lag issues here and there, but not enough to bring down the game in the slightest bit. |
