Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit - Review
Do you have what it takes to take your racing to the next level? Are you prepared to master super speeds that will leave you gasping for air in a gaming kind of way? Then step on down to Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit gives you a truly classic experience, with different cars of a range of makes that will leave your opponents tasting rubber. Need for Speed offers unique game play, a really nice atmosphere to it, and a range of insane cars to drive. In single player there are two different roles you can choose to play, being a rebellious racer is fortunately one of these roles. With this badass racer you are able to choose from different cars and different tracks located on your map to earn the most bounty and obtain the best cars the game has to offer. While doing so, of course, the Law enforcement don’t particularly like cars racing around like maniacs through their roads and will try and put a stop to you by any means necessary. However, Need for Speeds second role gives you a unique experience different from other racers. Being a cop, you have at your disposal gadgets like the famous roadblocks, spike strips and other abilities like calling down a helicopter. Its stuff like that, that really does make it that much more exciting. However racers are able to obtain some of these gadgets also, but don’t have as much as a variety as the big bad cops do. Cops also have a ranking system instead of the bounty system that racers use. Once you pick what role you have decided to go with, you basically level up (either bounty or rank) and unlock different locations and cars as you go along.
Although I have not been able to play much multiplayer myself due to internet issues, I do believe the times I had were too addicting and gleeful, especially when you’re the cops. This game is wonderful in the graphics department and offers really nice textures, shades, and lighting. Maps and locations are particularly pleasant to look at, even if they are blurring while driving at ridiculous speeds. The ranges of cars that you can pick from are realistically beautiful, and it shows in the game too. Sounds of cars buzzing around, with cop sirens chasing close behind really does give a fast paced experience to players and gives you the atmosphere Need for Speed games so willingly offer.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit delivers a satisfactory racing gameplay and is indeed a classic for many years to come. Although there are some frustrating times that come up with camera cuts that affect your driving and what not, it really has no impact at all on how well the game delivers its positive qualities. |
