Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock - Review
Although Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock doesn’t totally live up to its previous titles, it still however brings you hours of fun and enjoyable gameplay. If you’re craving to release your inner musician... then you should probably play an instrument, but hey, why not exercise your fingers of doom with Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock.
Guitar Hero has always required a high amount of hand eye coordination in order to succeed, with songs like the dreaded Metallica One, a solo that makes you want to cry of frustration, and other classic tracks, there will always be a satisfying challenge for gamers. Warriors of Rock’s storyline embarks you on a journey to find worthy band members and turn them into mighty warriors of rock. Although, you don’t actually get a choice in picking your members, it’s still pretty fun watching them go through a set of tracks and in conclusion, morph into some beast. As you progress, you collect more and more rockers and rock a path all the way to the big bad boss (but I won’t spoil that for you). There a wide range of awesome tracks featured, with Pantera’s I’m Broken, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Cherrybomb by The Runaways, and a lot more. Warriors of Rock doesn't overly deliver you a more challenging experience compared to Guitar Hero 1,2 or 3, but does give you an enjoyable time with new tracks introduced. Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock also introduces a wider creative ability for players in need of making their own musicians. With new accessories and instruments to customize, the more artistic gamers will surely have some good fun with the tweaked system from Guitar Hero 5. Multiplayer is a lot of fun, especially with a couple of friends or family members all fighting over the different instruments, and then later on, fighting because they can’t play those instruments and would rather swap with someone else.
Stages are a little lame at times, with different scenarios and places you’re able to unleash your inner rock god upon, but just don’t overly do it for me. The visuals are nicely put together, with some improvements from previous titles in terms of certain textures and shades, making a more appealing game all round. The colorful buttons that represent your guitar’s fret board still look… well, like all the same colors! Music and tracks are obviously the backbone of musical video games, and guitar hero does offer a cool choice in songs, and does it in a nice satisfying way. Being a fan of the previous titles that hit our stores, I do think Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock isn’t a total sham, but can get a little boring and repetitive at times. So if you want to have some fun, with friends, family, whoever it may be, then Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock, in my opinion will give you some quality time and exercise that coordination of yours for quite a bit of time.
