Warhammer Online - Review
Warhammer online will let you experience the Warhammer universe like never before. Warhammer Age of Reckoning is a MMORPG that lets you develop your character into a might hero. This game is easily a must play for any MMORPG fans that crave an abundance of content with focused pvp gameplay for players to enjoy.
Warhammer lets you play any of 2 factions, with each faction having 3 races to choose from, with 4 classes at the disposal of every race. Warhammer also introduces RVR which is a pvp aspect that allows realms to pit against eachother in exciting and bloody battles. This game really delivers a memorable experience in terms of PVP with the game being nearly entirely focused on this element it offers a whole new range of different objectives you are able to accomplish throughout the game. Warhammers PVE system however still holds up well but unfortunately does not compare with the RVR system. Questing in Warhammer online isn't the most compelling experience, with only one starting area for each faction and having to do the same quests over and over, kind of.. well, puts you off wanting to level an alternative character. Although the questing areas deliver a new concept and diverse way of questing with the introduction of public quests. Public quests are a group activity that is open to anyone who ventures in the area of the public quest being held. Players that participate in public quests are rewarded with different prizes depending on the amount of participation from each individual.
RVR is easily the biggest highlight of this magnificent game and delivers you a truly competitive experience. With fortresses that faction guilds can obtain and defend from other enemy guilds, it offers a huge amount of possibilities and fun ways to fight the opposition instead of having the same battleground qued to wage war. Players are able to buy siege equipment such as battering rams, catapults, you name it! All really wicked and great stuff to keep you occupied for hours on end. Every class plays a pivotal role in these RVR match ups, with tanks being able to shield wall to block any chokepoints while healers mend their wounds as waves of enemies dint their shields and attempt to break their spirits. Dps (damager per second) characters can attack from walls and rain carnage and bloody projectiles at enemies below. When sieging, your objectives are to break into the enemy’s fortress and slay the NPC leader that resides in their keep. The graphics are excellent and I truly believe mythic deserve a pat on the back with their abundance of great armor and weaponry design that has gone into this game. Even at low levels you can find yourself being decked out with Armour that looks fierce and beautiful at the same time. The scenery of some levels do get bland after questing in the same areas for quite a bit of time, but really don’t do much to affect the positives of this great game. The soundtracks that are delivered aren't overly memorable or classic, but sound effects do give you the feel of immense battles and sieges that take place.
Warhammer is easily one of my favorite MMORPG’s to ever play and deserves a big thumbs up to Mythic for producing this wonderful and fulfilling video game. |
