Minecraft ReviewDo you hear that? Well do you? Because the king of sandboxes has arrived. With such a ridiculous amount of things to do, building villages, submarines, castles, you name it! Basically everything your imagination can dream of can be achieved. Limitless possibilities with simple graphics are the secret formula for Minecraft.
Now if your a creative soul like me, well gosh, just purchase this game right now! Honestly, I found myself playing for hours on end, making whatever my imagination deemed fit to. In singleplayer you’re able to pick from three different modes that all in their own way offer a diverse range of gameplay. In survival you must build up some sort of shelter, collect supplies, and do whatever is necessary to survive the creepy zombies that lurk in the night. Hardcore is basically Survival mode on steroids, with you only having one life. Creative is probably one of the most enjoyable modes, with unlimited health, the ability to fly, and at your disposal are hundreds of blocks and objects that you may place, the possibilities are endless. The Nether (a another world of Minecraft) is a kind of… well, depressing world, with flying ghasts, half pig zombie men, and lava just about anywhere you look. Also, another really cool addition to spice the game up is the “Ender” which acts as the end of game. With a big frustrated dragon, you must slay him and reign supreme in the world of Minecraft. As you progress through either survival or hardcore your character gains experience from mining and will soon be able to enchant weapons and armour when at a high enough level, with the right ingredients of course. If I were to tell you every single thing you are able to obtain or manufacture.. we would be here all day, but instead, I’ll give you guys some highlights and things that really stuck out for me. Armour and Weapons are able to be forged with the right materials and later turned into mighty enchanted weaponry that wreak havoc on them damn zombies. You are also able to create mine carts, tracks, and so, so much more. There are a range of different enemies for you to face, including the dreaded, now famous creeper, zombie, skeleton, and the quick spider.
Multiplayer is extremely fun, with you teaming up with friends to survive the horrific zombies, or even going into creative mode to show off to your friends your insane creations. You’re also able to download software from minecrafts official website that enables you to host your own server, and offers any player that wishes to see your world to come join. With such simplicity in Minecrafts graphics, yet, such magic, it just makes you realize that games don’t have to be masterpieces of art in order to win your hearts, especially when the gameplay rules. There are so many things you are able to create and shape, with terrain and ridiculous large worlds all at your disposal; it does get a little overwhelming. The soundtrack is iconic, and delivers a nice mood and everlasting presence. Sound effects are nothing spectacular but do deliver the magic that this game offers, so very well.
If you’re a sandbox junky, love making stuff, or even want something worthwhile, then Minecraft is definitely for you. |
