Sim 3 - Review
The Sims, from playing the first classic that hit stores many years ago to the more recent Sims 2, I have to admit, I’ve always been satisfied with gameplay and the different amount of things to accomplish and do. Now, Sims 3 gives you a graphical leap over previous titles, a ton of new content and as much satisfying fun than ever while controlling your Sims through a virtual life.
As with the previous games of the popular franchise, Sims gives you an insane amount of new things to do, with a highly customizable aspect with personalities and traits to make your Sim unique. I have always loved the customization process, whether it be the making of a family, an elderly couple, or a teenager being independent living in his first house, it will consistantly give you an enjoyable and diverse experience. The customizer introduces more clothes, accessories, personality traits, star signs, you name it! There is always a way to make a new, bright little sim that’s unique in his or her own way. Once you’ve created your Sim or family of Sims, you are able to select a house and start your Sims journey through their exciting life. Career ambitions and a load of things to do keep your Sims happy and gives you a pretty busy schedule no matter what stage of the game you’re up to. I absolutely love making random houses, trying out ideas, and usually spend hours before I can even afford to move my Sims in my cool little house. Of course, if you would rather just make a huge mansion that’s worth thousands of dollars don’t expect your newly created Sim to be able to move in straight away, no, it’s time for the boring stuff.. Work. There are many different jobs and careers you can choose to pursue, with different shift times, skills required to succeed in the business and making sure your Sim isn’t moody when trying to achieve that big promotion he or she has been dreaming of. Gameplay can get a little tedious at times, but it doesn't negatively affect the game in the slightest with a lot more enjoyable experiences outweighing the boring.
The visuals are stunning, although aren't a huge leap from Sims 2, but still offers some tweaks here and there you’re bound to notice. Sims 3 has a large amount of items and such , with a range of different expansions being released giving players an abundance of locations, careers, clothes, everything you can imagine, being introduced through different expansions on a regular basis. It is a little lame, having to buy expansions in order to obtain certain furniture and such, but you can have just as much fun on the original Sims 3 for quite some time before wanting to expand. There are still the gibbering conversations you Sims fans are bound to remember, with them happy tunes being played throughout the game, giving you that positive magic that the Sims 1 and 2 delivered gamers throughout the years.
Whether you’re a fan of the popular Sims franchise or not, I believe you will have quite a bit of fun with this latest addition, along with many days spent in your room leading your Sims through a virtual life. |
