Orcs Must Die 2 - Review
This game delivers an interesting time to either play by yourself and slay orcs, or with a friend. Orcs must die 2 is set in a fantasy world, where your main objective is to defend various locations with portals from the orcs trying to enter and wreak havoc along with their ogre and other crazy critter friends. You can either choose to be a male mage, or a female sorceress, with weapon upgrades and traps to make sure your life as a defender is a lot easier. Now, the first Orcs must Die delivered a very fun and brutal way to pass time and slay orcs while doing it, but now with the multiplayer aspect to it, it makes it that much more enjoyable.
Whether you’d rather be the sole defender or play with a battle-hardened friend, this game will deliver you some intense and really exciting last stand moments to push the orc threat back. As you play and progress you have the choice of upgrading different sorts of traps and gadgets, along with some guardians to battle alongside you. With this 2nd installment comes new traps and gadgets, all helping you greatly to triumph over your enemies and slash the wretched orcs to oblivion! Multiplayer really does make that experience a whole lot more enjoyable, with you fighting alongside your friend with orcs and beasts invading and pushing their way through painfully with each trap setting them back. The game didn’t go as long as I wanted it to, but it was cool how I could go back and get higher scores and compete with other friends single player scores to see who the true mighty defender of the portals was.
Orcs Must Die 2 delivers some humorous yet gory sounds while poor orcs meet their demise in traps that burn them alive, or crush them into small pieces. The voice acting of the War mage and Sorceress both were well made and give a humorous edge.
I really think anyone who likes tower defense should give this game a try. Although there are some glitches and bugs, and the game can get a bit repetitive at times, it’s a nice way to pass time or even just something to do for some fun if feeling a little sluggish or bored. |
