Perfect World
Perfect World is number seven on our Top 10 MMORPG Games List. Perfect World's characters and settings are all based on Chinese Mythology and in itself can be very interesting to learn about. Perfect World is one of the more enjoyable MMORPGs that we have played and it actually took us by surprise.
There is not a whole lot of different class's to chose - much less than most MMORPG's and these are dependent on the race you choose at the start. There is a bit of a harvest mentality in Perfect World but we found this to be actually quite fun when you come across some of the stranger if not disturbing creators in the world. Of course there's the normal wolves, minotaurs and harpies that we always see, but there are some creative and cool monsters to find. Perfect World is very friendly to the solo player right up until about level 20, and until about level 20 this might be the best option as there is no way to "target" a monster. Basically what that means is that you can strike away at something until it has 1 HP left, then if someone else comes along and delivers the killing blow they are awarded the kill. There is the Auction House much like WoW where you can sell all those wares and items that you've spent your hard time gathering. But we found the fee's to be really high and the UI to be very clunky, there is another option to sell your stuff in Perfect World, by turning yourself into a little cat looking thing that acts as a store front where you can peddle those wares. The last to mention is the incredible graphics - they are some of the best that we have seen in this type of game and will keep you mesmerized for hours on end. A good addition to the Top 10 MMORPG Games List and one you shouldn't miss. PROS - Great Graphics <> Good solid game play <> Interesting monster design <> Turn yourself into a shop <> CONS - Buggy and Obscure UI <> Inconsistent AI <> An imbalanced leveling system <> Can be a bit grindy <> |
